Most times programmers or learner programmers are faced with questions like, how many programming languages should I learn? What programming language should I start with?
It has been discovered that the programming languages you learn does not matter, it’s what you do with them that matters. Actually most of us know that, but we get distracted by the languages and forget it periodically. Now you shouldn’t.

There are a lot of programming languages. I have noticed that what can be done with Language A can also be done with Language B. You don’t need to border yourself about what programming language you are to learn. Just pick a programming language of your choice and learn it. However, most programmers like me have the understanding of more than one programming language. Most programmers learn twenty or more programming languages. Most of these programming languages have similar syntax. A Java programmer will find C++ simpler when learning. It is the same thing with most programming languages. Just master one.
Then the question is, what programming language do I start with?
I would say the programming language you start learning with does not really matter. Most people however advice that you use programming languages like Python as it has simple English like syntax. You can also consider Visual Basic or Java. Knowledge in any of the programming languages is a good start and you will find it easy when you try to learn other programming languages.
Lastly, don’t get sucked into the religion surrounding programing languages as that will only blind you to their true purpose of being your tool for doing interesting things.
To start learning a programming language today, visit any available tutorial websites such as tutorialspoint, w3schools, code.org etc, online courses from coursera or download e-books. I would not like to recommend any here. Wish you all d best.
